Therapeutic Yoga
Therapeutic Yoga is a particularly effective practice for those recovering from, or living with, injury or illness. Therapeutic Yoga blends restorative yoga (supported postures), gentle yoga, breathwork (pranayama), hands-on healing, and guided meditation techniques. Classes are structured to accommodate a variety of conditions. The asanas will stretch and strengthen the muscles while building greater balance and flexibility. Meditation practices are calming and help with stress reduction. Throughout the class, students will link breath to movement to make a complete mind-body connection.
The structure and sequence of the Therapeutic Yoga class was developed from the evidence-based Yoga for Arthritis program, which utilizes the latest in Western medicine. Crystal Moore RYT-500, who successfully completed the Yoga for Arthritis program, will teach the class. She is registered with Yoga Alliance (the international professional organization of yoga instructors).
